rinity Place is a rent-geared-to-income, 20-unit apartment building, located at 25 James Street East, Cobourg, Ontario. Trinity Place was initiated by the congregation of Trinity United Church of Cobourg and opened in September 1990. It is operated by Trinity Housing of Cobourg Corporation, a not-for-profit corporation formed to provide subsidized housing to low income residents of the County of Northumberland.

Our residents include singles, seniors, families, single parents and the developmentally/physically challenged, who are accommodated in one, two and three bedroom units. All rents at Trinity Place are based on the family's gross monthly income and may fluctuate frequently.

The County of Northumberland Determines eligibility for subsidized housing and rent payments required. All rents at Trinity Place are funded by the federal government (60%) and the County of Northumberland (40%) with some assistance from the rents received.

A board of directors of seven is responsible for the management of the corporation. The directors are elected by the members of the corporation, who are members of Trinity United Church, at the annual general meeting of the corporation. For convenience, the meeting is usually held on the same date as the annual general meeting of the church. Each director is elected to a term, normally three years, with terms staggered in order that one or two members are elected each year.

The board has four Committees with a director serving as a chair of each committee: executive, finance, personnel/policy and property.

The corporation has two part time employees: a property manager (20 hours per week) and a custodian (20 hours per week). There is also an on-site security tenant and an on-site back-up security tenant.
